55 Jahre nachdem der letzte DB5 im Werk in Newport Pagnell gebaut wurde, stellen die Briten das erste der 25 James-Bond-Customer Cars fertig. 4500 Stunden Arbeit stecken im DB5 Goldfinger Continuation, der in Zusammenarbeit mit der Filmproduktionsfirma EON Productions entstanden ist. EON produzierte die meisten James Bond Filme, so auch den legendären Goldfinger-Streifen aus dem Jahr 1964. Die Die Alu-Karosserie der 25 limitierten Goldfinger-DB5 sind in „Silver Birch“ lackiert und gleichen dem Original Aston Martin DB5, von dem zwischen 1963 und 1965 weniger als 900 Stück gebaut wurden, bis aufs Haar. Der Clou: Der DB5 Goldfinger Continuation verfügt darüber hinaus über die Original-Geheimdienst-Spezialeffekten aus dem Film - vom eingebauten Maschinengewehr über das drehbare Nummernschild bis hin Rauchwerfern oder Ölabsonderer, um die Verfolger abzuhängen. Angetrieben wird die Neuauflage von einem Vierliter-Sechszylinder-Sauger mit 290 britischen Pferdestärken. Dieser ist an einen Fünfstufen-Automat von ZF gekoppelt.
